Welcome to Nichols Elementary School

Nichols Elementary School embraces responsibility for preparing all students to participate responsibly, intellectually and creatively in school and within society. We are committed to motivating students towards independent thinking and self-initiated goals and giving students the skills to be successful throughout their lives.

At Nichols Elementary School, we believe it takes the whole learning community, parents, students and staff, working together for the benefit of continuous learning and to create a school environment that promotes academic and social excellence.

Happy 100th Birthday Nichols!

Nichols opened in 1914 as a one-story, four-room school for children in kindergarten through grade 8.  In 1927, more rooms were added creating a second floor.  Another renovation in 1956 added six more classrooms, an office area, and a small gym. In 1989, the rest of the current primary wing was added, as well as the library, cafeteria, and two more classrooms, currently housing sixth graders with Mr. Damone and Mr. Iodice.

On Saturday, May 30 Nichols Elementary School celebrated its 100th Birthday.  Students enjoyed music, face painting, a bouncy house, snacks and played games that children played 100 years ago.  A fun time was had by all!
